Int'l advisory group meeting focuses on Africa

With many countries of the world vying desperately with each other to preoccupy the emerging markets, FKI held a meeting of its International Advisory Group at Hotel Lotte May 14 to seek ways to efficiently support a corporate bid to advance into the emerging markets. Attended by the members of the advisory group, including former ambassadors, representatives of large and small businesses who had experienced in doing business in the region, and regional experts, the meeting focused on Africa.

Given the fact that the existing major markets in Asia and the Middle East have already been fully beset by competitors, and their competition is getting tougher and tougher, while the corporate demand for entering the African markets has grown bigger, the Federation has decided to put Africa on the priority list of the meeting.

Based on the results of the meeting, FKI will be moving on to hold a Korea-Mozambique Business Forum, and a seminar introducing the development projects in Mozambique to domestic industries in Seoul next month, while dispatching a business mission to explore the African markets including Mozambique in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy(MOTIE).

The Federation is to help Korean companies eliminate barriers to export and investment in Africa, and invite and introduce major African project owners to domestic enterprises. It also plans to have the advisory group consult Korean businesses in doing business with the Middle East, Central and South America and Central Asia in the days to come.
