The Gwangju and Jeollanamdo-based environmental organizations have started a project called `Save the Yeongsan River.’
According to the Green Jeollanamdo, one of the local environmental group, the joint project will be carried out under the theme ‘Coexistence and Commensalism’ starting from today for 5 consecutive days.
The participating groups plan to hold a rally at Namchang Valley in Jangseong, a source of the river today.
The participants are expected to conduct a private inspection of the river to observe the affects from the four-river project as well as carry out promotional activities to raise public attention on the issue.
