On 25 June, the ROK Government issued the cyber crisis 'interest' warning after confirming hacking attacks against internet home pages of the Blue House, Office for Government Policy Coordination, and various media agencies.
On the same day, the ROKG convened a 'cyber crisis evaluation meeting' in which officers in charge from 10 government agencies including the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, Ministry of Security and Public Administration, Ministry of National Defense, and the National Intelligence Service participated to investigate the cause, and issued this warning.
Due to this attack, the main page of the Office for Government Policy Coordination's webpage was forged, and access to home pages of various media agencies and the Saenuri Party's municipal and provincial branches were hampered.
The ROK military also strengthened its cyber protection posture in order to respond to this situation. It was reported that there were no hacking attempts made on the internet home pages of the MND, JCS, the Army, Navy, and the Air Force.
