Retail Sales Figures for March. Korea

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has released its retail sales figures for the month of March. 
Sales at the nation’s three major discount chains fell 4.4 percent year on year due to sluggish sales of food. 
While spending on household appliances and cultural goods, general goods and sporting goods showed a slight increase, sales of apparel, household goods and food declined.

Sales at the nation’s major department stores rose 7.5 percent from a year earlier as unseasonably warm weather boosted sales of fashion items. 
Brisk sales of women’s casual wear, general goods and household goods were contributing factors.
