Gwangju and Jeollanamdo’s Trade Surplus Marks 400 Million Dollars in June

The trade surplus has recorded 400 million US dollars in June in Gwangju and Jeollanam area.

According to the Gwangju Main Customs Office, the exports from Gwangju and Jeollanamdo have reached 4.5 billion dollars, while total imports has reached 4.1 billion dollars, creating a trade surplus of 400 million dollars.

The total trade figures from the beginning of this year until the end of June has been 28.6 billion dollars in total exports with 24.9 billion dollars in total imports.

Exports from Gwangju alone accounted for 1.2 billion dollars, up 8 percent compared to the same period last year along with 400 million dollars in imports, a huge trade surplus.

Trade authorities attributed this to the increase in the export of semiconductors and transport equipment manufactured from this area.
