In response to the recent revelation over the National Intelligence Service`s questionable involvement in last year`s presidential election, the social organizations from all over Gwangju has established an "Emergency Assembly".
Under the slogan ‘Condemn NIS’s Violation of Constitution and Protect Democracy,’ the Gwangju’s Emergency Assembly held a press release and announced its establishment at the YMCA yesterday.
The Assembly insisted that it will keep fighting until the NIS incident is thoroughly investigated along with demands that the people involved be punished for any wrongdoings.
Assembly officials vowed to continue their campaign, calling for closer oversight of government activities as well as reforming the NIS.
