Gwangju’s LED Products to Light up Africa

The City of Gwangju has announced it plans to provide Gwangju-made lighting products across the world to the Western African city of Abomey in the People’s Republic of Benin through its ‘Bitgoeul Project’.

Gwangju’s announcement comes as the Minister of Environment and Urban Development of Benin, Geureleh had asked for Gwangju’s support in aiding his country during his visit to the city earlier this year in April.

Under a friendship agreement signed in 2010, Gwangju will offer Abomey’s citizens with homeware products including appliances as well as Gwangju-made LED products at a cost of 50 million won.
