With the seasonal rain front moving toward the central area, the heat wave warnings have been issued throughout Gyeongsangdo along with Daegu and Ulsan this morning.
The National Emergency Management Agency has announced that it will make efforts to provide services to protect the socially disadvantaged, farmers as well as anybody working outside with local authorities to protect the public from the blistering weather.
Agency officials advised avoiding outdoor activities as much as possible as well as drinking enough water to prevent the heat exhaustion.
Agency also advised senior citizens to especially be careful and to seek medical assistance if necessary.
Meanwhile, the City of Gwangju has stepped up efforts to establish preventive measures against the upcoming heat wave by organizing specialized task forces with the relevant city departments, which the efforts will continue until the end of September.
