Business near Chungjang-ro in Gwangju to be Expanded

Due to the reconstruction and expansion of businesses near the Asia Culture Complex, Chungjang-ro Street is expected to revitalize after the recent economic recession.
Market insiders say the construction and remodeling work of the shopping area, hotel and restaurants are currently taking place in five venues on Chungjang-ro Street.
Two of the large-scale shopping malls and business buildings are currently being constructed near the Gwangju Students’ Movement Memorial Hall and the Riverside Hotel in Hwanggeum-dong of Chungjang-ro Street.
NC Department store is set to open its doors to the public in June raising hopes for a revitalized business district on Chungjang-ro Street.
However, some are voicing concerns over the excessive competition among the existing and new shopping malls and the higher rental fees of these areas.
