Speaker Kang Chang-hee had a luncheon with five ambassadors to Korea, who are members of the Korean-Speaking Ambassadors’ Group, on May 15, at a hotel in Seoul.
Speaker Kang was invited to the luncheon by Mr. Lee Man-sup, the honorary president of the group and former National Assembly Speaker, and had a casual conversation with the ambassadors.
Speaker Kang said, “I appreciate your efforts to deepen the relations of your countries with Korea. I also thank all of you for your love for Korea and the Korean people.”
“I believe that your fluent Korean shows your deep understanding of Korean culture. I wish many good things happen to you during your terms,” he added.
Mr. Lee, who co-founded the group in 2002, said, “I wish an ambassador to Japan was joining us. I believe this gathering will pave the way for broader exchanges and more discussions between each country and Korea.”
The luncheon was also attended by Secretary-General Chung Jin-suk, US Ambassador Sung Kim, Uzbek Ambassador Vitali Fen, Hungarian Ambassador Miklós Lengyel, Kazakh Ambassador DULAT BAKISHEV, and Mongolian Ambassador Ganbold Baasanjav.
