Foreign-Invested Companies Looking for Talent

KOTRA and Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy Host Recruiting Sessions at Universities

KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE) held an information session on Wednesday about foreign-invested companies for students looking for jobs. The session, held at Chungbuk University, aimed to address the recruitment challenges faced by foreign companies and to provide global employment opportunities for undergraduate students outside of Seoul. 

Global companies including ABB Korea, Robert Bosch Korea, Emerson Process Management Korea, Johnson Controls Automotive Korea and Google Korea participated in the information session and held on-site interviews. 

Most participating companies – many of which are Fortune 500 enterprises – sought students with a background in science and engineering, including in the sectors of automotive, electronics, mechanical engineering and computer science. The session aimed to help resolve the problem of low employment among students outside of Seoul.

Byun Young-man, from the Foreign Investment Policy Division of MOTIE, said the information sessions served as an opportunity to help companies find an optimal workforce and students to challenge themselves to enter global companies. He added that the ministry will work to create 1,000 jobs for youths through four more recruiting sessions, including one at Chonbuk University on May 28.
