The 8th Jeju Forum to be held starting May 29th


The 8th Jeju Forum is to be held the end of the month with the theme of, "New Waves in Asia." It is expected that the international cooperation of three of Asia’s chief nations, Korea, China, and Japan, will discussed in depth. 


The forum will be held from May 29th to 31st at the Haevichi Hotel & Resort. 15 sessions out of a total of 52 will deal strictly with cooperative relationships between Korea, China, and Japan. The goal of the sessions is to discuss international cooperation in different sectors, and also to examine alternative policies now that each country is starting to settle in under new governments.

The discussion topics were selected by the Agenda Selection Committee, which is comprised of experts from a variety of fields. Issues concerning peace, economics, environment, culture, and women will be under discussion by the forum participants.

21 senior Chinese government officials, as well as the Ministers of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan will participate in the various forums looking into increased cooperation between the three chief Asian nations. 

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is fully committed to delivering a successful conference opening, and following it with constructive administrative support plans.
