Enhancing the Capability to Utilize the Tactical Command Information System

Enhancing the capability to utilize the tactical command information system Army 3rd Corps holds 'Best Mountain Warrior' tournament.

The Army 3rd Corps recently held the 'Best Mountain ATCIS Warrior' tournament in which more than 100 action officers from battalion level units and above participated.

Through this tournament, which started in 2008, the soldiers have been able to enhance their capabilities to utilize the Army Tactical Command Information System (ATCIS), which will be an essential element in the future battlefield, and to reinforce the corps' combat power.

Soldiers who are selected through this tournament carry out on-the-road education sessions for various army units during which the know-how for operating the ATCIS in a more accurate and faster manner is shared. As a result of these efforts, it is evaluated that the ATCIS utilization skills of corps level soldiers are currently superior than any other level units.

The tournament consisted of a written evaluation and a field evaluation which focused on verifying the actual combat mission execution capabilities of the competitors. Items of evaluation included registering each equipment, processing messages, preparing situation and transparent maps, and operating command and functional menus.
