The Gwangan Bridge Exterior Lighting Project started in September 2011 and was completed in November 2013, with a total project cost of 10.43 billion won.
The scale of the project is the largest of its kind in the world. There are also 54 music speakers installed on lamp posts along the waterfront that allow visitors to experience the beautiful views of Gwangan Bridge fully illuminated while enjoying listening to music. These dazzling lights offer an array of color and beauty and should not be missed. Operation of the lights will vary according to season and special holidays.
The city hopes the Gwangan Bridge LED lighting will become a popular tourist attraction.
The lighting ceremony for the completion of Gwangan Bridge Exterior Lighting Project will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, from 4:30 p.m. - 6:05 p.m. at Gwangalli Beach.
The city would like to encourage all residents to come and join in the festivities. The lighting show will run from 5:45 p.m. until 6:05 p.m.

They are changing street lighting with LED lights, Tower's light, bridge's lights with LED to save money and energy both.
