Jeju tangerines ranked as best national product 2 years running

Jeju tangerines received the top prize at the 2013 National Brand Awards.

The event is hosted by the Economist National Brand Award Selection Committee, and is sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs.

The award screening process took into account all manner of qualities, including product awareness, product representation, satisfaction, loyalty, global competitiveness, and general liking.

Jeju tangerines earned 79.88 points to take first place. Jeju has been focusing on the taste and quality of its oranges, avoiding pure production-oriented policies.

Based on these results, Jeju will continue to invest in its tangerine industry to maintain this brand value, and enhance competitiveness in the global market by responding to consumer demand.
