Gwangju’s Participation Rate in Carbon Bank System Is Ranked First In the Nation

The participation rate for the carbon bank system in the Gwangju area is ranked first throughout the nation, recording 300 thousand in June. 

The carbon bank system refers to the energy saving program which offers participating citizens economic incentives for reducing the usage of gas, electricity and water.

According to the city of Gwangju, its admission rate for the system is fifty-six percent of total households within the region, which consists of ninety-three thousand in Buk-gu district and sixty-nine thousand in Kwangsan-gu district. 

To celebrate reaching 300 thousand, city officials stated that they plan to give out awards for the top residents in the program starting from this Wednesday to the 18th of August.
