Enjoy healing at the Daegu Arboretum for May, the queen of seasons

In an early May day, when warm sunlight is shining through the clouds, the Daegu Arboretum will be showing off its refreshing and “green” charm. In particular, as the spring has come to us later than usual this year, it will be one of the best places to enjoy the change of the season. Every day, the Daegu Arboretum is being flooded with springtime picnickers.

The Daegu Arboretum is a major arboretum in the southeastern region of the country and provides diverse plant resources. It is not just a research body that helps preserve and manage indigenous plants and enhance the local biodiversity but also offers a research platform, resting and educational places for the nature.

Walking along the local “deck observatory road” that runs on the fringe of the arboretum, you can shrug off your city life and feel your body and mind become purified as you breathe the scent emanating from trees lining the road. The warm May sunlight softly filters through the overhead leaves amidst the mysterious twitting of hidden birds.

In particular, at the end of the deck observatory road lies a royal azalea garden where you can see such indigenous plants as azalea, Korean azalea and other blooming flowers and enjoy the genuine beauty of a spring arboretum decorated in a fantastic powder pink.

It is another pleasure to walk down the tracking route located on the opposite of the deck observatory road. This unpaved track will give you far less fatigue than walking along paved roads thanks to the soft touch of its soil. These days, many people, including the young, old, females, males, couples and singles, come to the tracking road to enjoy what seems like a walking festival. Walking through the tunnel created by the flowers and trees lining the road will give you an incomparable experience and memory.

At this time of year, plants and flowers grow and bloom more vibrantly than in any other season. They sprout green here and there with beautiful spring flowers covering the whole land. You don’t have to go a long way to enjoy a spring flower festival. Just come to the Daegu Arboretum, located in your neighborhood, and take home a sense of spring.
